RetailPOS
The counter. Barcode, search, cash, card, mixed, refunds, exchanges, end-of-day cash-up that locks the till. House-account credit is there for retail and hospitality — under More Options, not on the everyday payment tiles.
Retail · Bar · Restaurant · Chains
Crown of Philly POS is two products that refuse to live apart: a fast South African till on the counter, and POS Central in the cloud — so a store manager, a regional manager, and a national owner each see the money they are allowed to touch. Not a spreadsheet. Not WhatsApp photos of Z-reports.
What you are buying
Most POS vendors sell you a register and a monthly invoice. We sell the moment after close of day: cash-up on the till, safe drop in the cloud, restock list for Monday, credit book for the customer who “will pay Friday”.
The counter. Barcode, search, cash, card, mixed, refunds, exchanges, end-of-day cash-up that locks the till. House-account credit is there for retail and hospitality — under More Options, not on the everyday payment tiles.
The owner’s office. Decision reports, stock, credit book, safe reconciliation, training academy, network health. National sees regions. Regional sees stores. Store sees tills.
Sales, users, stock, expenses, cash-ups, and credit book travel to the cloud. Cash-up no longer waits for the next login — it is queued on the till and pushed before the cashier is even on the login screen.
On the counter

Scan, F1 add, F2 search, F3 card, F4 cash, F5 mixed. Refunds need a manager. Cash-up counts the drawer, writes the Z, drops cash to the safe figure, and logs the cashier off so the next shift cannot spend yesterday’s float.

Spaza, supermarket, butcher, hardware — someone always runs a book. Charge to account and Credit Book live in More Options on both the supermarket till and the restaurant till, so cashiers still hit F3/F4/F5 without hunting. Charging a cart checks the limit. Collecting knocks the balance down. The ledger syncs to POS Central so the owner can see who to collect from first. Nobody is locked out because they sell Coke instead of kota.
In the office and in the car

Store dashboard with live tills. Reports named after the decision, not the SQL. Training that changes with the role — national is not taught to count a drawer.

Sales velocity versus stock on hand. Suggested order for the next 7, 14 or 30 days. Ingredients use the resource register so a ghost product row at quantity 0 cannot scare you into over-ordering Special Slice.

Restock on the phone. The till pulls it. The till cannot overwrite a cloud restock with a stale snapshot. That is the difference between “we have a cloud” and “Monday’s bakkie is loaded with the right boxes”.
Cash-up on the till becomes a deposit in POS Central. Safe reconciliation asks one question: does the safe hold what the tills said they dropped?
Outstanding house accounts, ranked by exposure. Collect the large ones first. Same book the till just charged.
National sees if a region is online. Regional sees if a store is operating. Store sees the till: machine, disk, last heartbeat. No one is drowned in the wrong detail.
Who gets which buttons
The full shop: cash-ups, stock, expenses, credit book, till health. They run Monday.
Store scorecards. Stock and expenses for their stores. No counting someone else’s drawer. No till IP addresses.
Region money. Who is excelling, who is leaking. Totals, not till lines. They cannot “just fix” a price from Sandton.
Prices in Rand. On this page. No “contact sales”.
Three honest models. Hardware is never in the setup fee — drawers, printers, scanners, and customer displays are quoted apart, or you bring what you already own.
Software at R0. We earn when the card machine earns.
A fair monthly + a smaller cut. Toast and Shopify POS live here. So should you.
Keep SpeedPoint / your bank. Pay us like a proper SaaS.
Go-live is work: till config, users and roles, catalog import, a half-day on the floor, and a week of WhatsApp after the first cash-up. That is the fee. A cash drawer is not.
| What | Rand | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| First store | R4,900 | Config, import assist, on-floor training, go-live week |
| Each extra store | R2,400 | Clone the playbook, train that floor |
| Extra till in an existing store | R750 | Device pairing, receipt, drawer mapping |
| Hardware | Quoted apart | Printers, scanners, drawers, customer display — or BYO |
| Annual software | 10 months | Pay yearly, skip two invoices |
If a vendor bundles a cheap printer into “free setup”, you are financing it in the rate. We would rather show you the line.
